DeCarlo & Doll, Inc. was formed in Hamden,
Connecticut in September of 1980. The firm was started by
Peter DeCarlo, PE and William Doll, PE. Originally an
engineering firm, the company has grown over the years
into a dynamic full-service consulting firm, providing planning, architecture, engineering, land surveying, telecommunications design, construction management, and administration
services.
DeCarlo & Doll, Inc. holds CT License #AEL.1 and is a
State of Connecticut Certified Small Business Enterprise
(SBE). Our Corporation is licensed to practice
architecture, engineering (mechanical, electrical,
plumbing, fire protection, civil, structural) and land
surveying services.
Our in-house Team consists of
specialists in the fields of education, housing
rehabilitation, construction management, interior design,
code compliance, fire and life safety, estimating,
construction inspection (NICET certification),
telecommunications, grant writing, energy conservation, a
State of Connecticut Certified Building Official,
Certified Energy Auditor, and Registered Communications
Distribution Designers...one well-equipped team for all
your needs.
Our Clients include municipalities,
state and federal agencies, and quasi-public and private
entities for which we have provided our full range of
services.

completion of your project. Our Team Leader is
responsible to you for: maintenance of weekly contact,
scheduling, interaction of all technical input,
coordination with all affected parties, regulatory
agencies and appropriate local and state officials, and
proper and timely insertion of professionals and other
Team members to assure completion of all activities on
time and within budget.

DeCarlo & Doll prides itself in its ability to
produce quality projects, within budget, and on schedule.
Our approach to this paradigm is based on Cost and
Quality Control parameters implemented throughout our
firm.
Cost control at DeCarlo & Doll is a continuous
operation. Our Construction Management department
continuously offers estimating support to our design
staff. Project construction costs are typically estimated
at the conceptual phase of each project, and subsequently
at the schematic, design development, and construction
document phases. Our Construction Management staff,
because of their day-to-day involvement with construction
trades and materials, is intimately familiar with the
Connecticut construction micro-environment and its
implications for project costs. As a result, DeCarlo
& Doll has been very successful in its delivery of
complex multi-disciplined construction projects within
the allocated budgets.
In parallel with our cost control measures, DeCarlo &
Doll has been successful at implementing aggressive peer-review
quality control measures. As a multi-discipline firm, we
thrive on cross-exchange of design information. As a
multi-layered professional firm, each discipline has the
ability to have a second professional periodically review
the work of the design team. This quality control feature
is typically exercised at the conceptual phase of each
project, and subsequently at the schematic, design
development, and construction document phases.
DeCarlo & Doll's project management philosophy is to
assign a Team Leader to each project. The Team Leader is
responsible for client contact and resource allocations.
Team Leaders shepherd the project through client and
regulatory reviews, cost and quality control measures,
bidding, construction administration, and delivery of the
constructed project.
As a full service firm, DeCarlo & Doll's only mission
is to assist our clients and together, through personal
